Computers For Children of AMERICA (CFCA)!
(Computers For Children of AMERICA (CFCA) is bringing together many of the grass root, community based, computer and technology refurbishing organizations that are scattered across the country into one national association. Headquartered out of Buffalo, New York, CFCA is partnering with manufacturers, sponsors, foundations and supporters to provide resources and opportunities for all of its membership. Currently, CFCA has established groundwork with over 25 affiliates across the country and the numbers are continuing to grow daily.
Our goal is to locate and establish affiliate organizations in strategically located areas of the country, so that all our nations underprivileged schools, economically disadvantaged individuals, disabled individuals, community centers, & non-profits receive the technology, computer equipment and school materials that are desperately needed. Together, we will bridge the digital divide and prepare our children for the future and the Information Age!
Presently, through this FREE ASSOCIATION, CFCA is working towards the common goals of all of our affiliates - some of these specific national initiatives relate back to the outlined (Member Benefits˙ on the following page. CFCA has been a communication piece for some of the outlined initiatives, and has designed and implemented others, but all efforts of these initiatives are addressed to provide local impact in your community organization and communities across the nation+(as a member your in put is welcome!)
v Microsoft Authorized Refurbishing Status - License agreement for lower costs on MS Operating Systems.
v House Resolution 295 -CFCA lobbied with Congressman Jack Quinn on a resolution that seeks to improve technology in education by adopting a permanent commission. Currently, the resolution has been referred to the House Committee on Education & the Workforce and the Subcommittee on 21st Century Competitiveness.
v National Technology Gala - Annual fundraising event that brings technology industry & non-profit leaders to Buffalo, NY for a fabulous night of entertainment and awareness.
v National KIDCO Program - Kids Internet Development Community Opportunity+a national model program that has proven superior for training at-risk high school students in computer hardware and software applications.
v VARTECH Convention - BlueStar Inc.'s Partner Conference called VARTECH, hosts a revolutionary industry show for POS and Auto ID VARS and Integrators that benefit CFCA.
v Inventory Control & Software Package - in conjunction wit the VARTECH Convention, standardized bar-coding system for donations of materials to archive information for annual reports and IRS documents.
v Communications Network - establish intranet LIST-SERV & chat room among association members through national website, linkage of member's websites, a member directory and a National Conference.
v National Sponsorships - established relationships with national sponsors such as HSBC Bank USA, Verizon, Microsoft Corp., Azerty Inc., United Stationers, IBM, Magellan, Okidata, Canon, Spectrum by Kantek, Hewlett Packard, BlueStar Inc., Brother Int'l, Computer Education Services Corp., Stampede Presentation Products, Logitech, Infocus, UPS, and more.
v All America City Competition Winners - Awarded by the National Civic League and presented by the White House, this prestigious award was given to CFCA as a part of the regions' civic empowerment projects and collaborations. Among the areas of recognition: non-profits, government, private and public corporations and community leaders.
v AmeriCorps VISTA - governmental volunteer organization provides qualified staff across the country.
v Buying Power v By banding together to buy hardware & software in bulk, in collaboration with national or local retailers or wholesalers, thus lowering prices and reducing a tremendous cost for members.
v Microsoft Collaboration - Consultation with representatives regarding benefits to member affiliates for the civil suit settlements.

National Association Outcomes:
Shared vision and mission for improving educational opportunities for children in need. Along with nationally networked communication, each member organization will have the opportunity for greater sustention to accomplish their mission.
Development of Common of standards of operation. In much like the Better Business Bureau of technology organizations, the CFCA will provide a rating for donors to access about the member organization.
Networking for each member organization, as they will have open communication with other member affiliates and the National Association.
Combined donation accountability for the number of units that will be donated to schools nationally.
Financial development the critical component in any organization or business initiative. Each member organization will gain substantial benefits and opportunities as part of CFCA.
Computers for Children of AMERICA's Membership Benefits:
Use the Tag Line (Member of Founding Sponsor's Computers For Children of AMERICA.
Access to pre-written digital grant library. This will include a strategic overview that provides insight into the various local organizations that should be tapped as part of that specific grant.
In association with cooperative grant proposal: Access to a grant consultant who will review, improve, file and track the success of the member organization grants.
Access to specific programs that have proven successful. Included with each program outline will be a strategy section providing insight into what type of supporters have been provided resources to operate the programs. Current programs include: Equipment Upgrade, Equipment Refurbishing, CFC Hardware Repair Training, KIDCO, Powerlink Internet Lab and general corporate sponsorship packages.
Access to national sponsorship opportunities- a portion of donation obtained from national sponsors will be shared with each member.
Access to a LIST-SERV that will connect every member organization v enabling an easy transfer of ideas and challenges and the creation of meaningful relationships.
Access to pre-printed materials that will aid in the development of programs.
Invitation to participate in Program Symposiums- a networking program to help outline specific areas of need and collection; i.e.: finance, program, inventory.
An invitation to a CFCA convention v allowing members to meet, learn and share ideas, concepts and challenges with each other.
Opportunity to leverage national and local press opportunities.
Each member organization will have the opportunity to benefit from national fundraising opportunities and cause related initiatives. Sponsors and corporations alike will have the marketing opportunity to share touching real life stories of the impact of the service delivered. This story line or message element component will be available for the corporation to leverage to further sales of the advertised product. Which will in turn; enable donations to be returned to the associated member
